Joyce Wolf - 2008 Foster Music Camp Vocal Instructor

Soprano Joyce Hall Wolf is a frequent performer of recital, opera, and oratorio in works ranging from those by Monteverdi to Mahler to Menotti.  At Eastern Kentucky University, Wolf is Associate Professor of Music.  She teaches voice, pedagogy, and repertoire, and directs EKU Opera. Wolf’s many students have been Regional and State NATS winners, performed regional opera, and are active teachers and performers. 

Wolf is a member of the EKU Honors Program Faculty.  A promoter and researcher of compositions by women, Wolf teaches Women in Music for the Honors Program.  Wolf has been a guest presenter on the subject of Alma Mahler-Werfel and Werfel’s lieder at conferences and as a guest at colleges and universities.  She presented the lecture recital Tension, Society, and Art Song – Critical Response and Creative Journey at the 2007 National Collegiate Honors Council Conference. 

Wolf holds the Doctorate of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Kentucky, the Master of Music in Applied Voice and Bachelor of Music in Music Education degrees from West Virginia University.
