HAPPY 75th BIRTHDAY FOSTER MUSIC CAMP!!!


We are excited to present the 75th consecutive season of the Stephen Collins Foster Music Camps as we continue our tradition as the second longest music camp in the nation!

To honor this historic occasion we have extended our high school camps one extra day to use as the basis for our 75th celebration events. On Saturday June 26th ALL  Foster Camp Alumni and 'Friends of Foster' are cordially invited back onto the 'campus beautiful' of Eastern Kentucky University for our special 75th Alumni Celebration Event.

We encourage all Foster Camp Alumnus to make plans to spend the day with us honoring our founders, remembering past years, and inspiring future young musicians from across the nation in hopes of continuing Foster  Music Camp for another 75 years to come. Please read this entire page as a tentative schedule is listed at bottom. To better help describe the days events we will discuss each item separately. Please check back often as we will continue to finalize plans and update this page.

Historical Exhibit and Reception
During the mid-afternoon we have scheduled a Foster Camp Historical Exhibit. We will showcase various documents such as the Band-Anna books from 1936-1970's, hundreds of Foster Camp photos from the first camp ever through last years camp, various memorabilia such as pennants and patches, and LP records and cassettes digitized to be in todays media formats for easy listening. 

We also need your help!! Although we have a reputable amount of archives we are aware of many items that are missing. If you have Foster Camp memorabilia that we may securely borrow for this event please email camp director Ben Walker at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   Any and all items are welcome and appreciated.  We will showcase your items safely and securely for all past Alumni to view. The more items we can obtain the more elaborate and interested exhibit we can make. If you can help please drop us an email.

Foster Camp Alumni Band
As part of our 75th celebration we are compiling together a Foster Camp Alumni Band. With the help of the local Madison County Community Band(whom which many members are Foster Alumni) under the direction of Dr. John Stroube we are planning a full 40-45 minute alumni band showcase. The day will begin with registration, followed by a 2 hour rehearsal, then a spectacular performance that evening. We want all alumni to please consider joining us. Whether you are a strong player or not, we encourage you to please join us. Registration for this event is free simply visit our Alumni Page Registry 

Foster Camp Orchestra and Chorus Alumni
All Foster Music Camp Orchestra and Chorus Alumni are cordially invited to the reception/historical exhibit and to also perform on the Grand Finale. Bring your string instrument or warm up those vocal chords and join us on stage for our famous Grand Finale and closing ceremonies. Granted we have made a few additions over the years but there is still quite a bit that has remained in tact for 75 years. Please come be a part. 9:30 – 10:00a.m. – Band Alumni Registration Foster Building Lobby

10:00 – 12:00 – Alumni Band Rehearsal Foster Building Room 300 OR Ravine

12:00 – 1:30pm  - Lunch ( welcome to eat with campers at Powell)

1:30 – TBA

2:00- 3:30pm Alumni Reception with Historical Exhibit – Location TBA

4:00 – FMC Orchestra Concert (Brock Stage)

5:00 – FMC Chorus Concert (Brock Stage)

6:00 – Alumni Band  Performance – Van Peursem Amphitheater(Ravine)

6:45 – FMC High School Band Performance – Van Peursem Amphitheater (Ravine)

7:30 – Gala Grand Finale - To Include ALL Orchestra and Chorus Alumni. (Band Alumni may participate if room on stage is available)
